2004 - Day 3 Norwood, MA
Boston, MA |
Again, we snuck back into
Adam's Hall. Ahhh free food. Again, not bad selection.
We went all over Harvard's campus that morning. We even
tried to sit in a class, but we couldn't find any lecture halls!
The law school library & other buildings were amazing. Very
old shit. We needed a place to bunk for the night so we
stayed with one of Phil's pals, Arman, at his house in Norwood,
MA. First we had to get on the T (the metero or subway if
your not familiar) to Davis Square where we got the car and drove
back to Harvard for our stuff. Remember that we didn't have
any maps to get anywhere. It was a fun night of Bertucci's
pizza and a couple games at the pool hall and SWAT the movie.
Shout out to Arman for being a cool dude and putting us up for a
night. |
| Tuesday, March 16,
2004 - Day 4 Boston, MA |
We first headed to
Wellesley to take a tour of the campus. On the way finding
the place, we found Babson instead so we decided to stop by take a
picture and buy a shotglass. (Another one of the recurring
themes of the trip). We then found Wellesley and book our
hotel that night at the Hyatt in the financial district for
$50/night 4stars baby!! We toured the place and Phil met
with his friend Lisa. We went back to Boston in a snow storm
(I can't believed it blizzard during our spring break). We
dropped our stuff and discovered that the city is full of 1 way
streets. Getting to city hall and finding my friend
Catherine was really a pain in the ass with the snow and the wind.
Next item: back to Tufts to park! ahh the joys of free
parking. We dropped by Red Bones for some southern cooking
and ribs!!! MMMMM sooo good. We went back on the T to our
hotel and then went out on a blizzard night to a local bar.
We discovered this awesome bar called the Good Life where we made
friends with the bartender, the waitress, and her bf who was
another one of the bartenders there. It was a lot of fun and
then we went to a bar next door called JJ Foley's for drinks when
their bar closed. We stumbled our way back our hotel which
was a block away. |

- Day 5 Boston, MA
(St. Pat's Day) |
Getting 10+ hours of
sleep per day is awesome. We got up and wanted some grub.
We went to a Quizzno's Subs just discovered they were not even
open to business. So Wendy's we went. While I went to
work out, Phil's brother Garin came and we decided to find
Boston's oldest restaurant (They claimed to be America's oldest
restaurant as well) The Union Oyster House. It took us 1hr
to find it because people pointed us to the wrong place. We
finally got there and the clam chowda was well worth it!! We
also saw a lot of early drunk people and the First Tavern.
We went back to the Hotel where we got Garin completely drunk.
Afterwards we went to the good life where we were met by my friend
Jeff. I haven't seen him in years! We went to Fanuil
Hall/Quincy Market area to find a nice bar. We found a nice
place that didn't charge cover called the RedHorse Tavern.
We were met by Catherine again. It was a fun night of
drinking and chilling. |
| Thursday, March 18, 2004
- Day 6 Boston, MA |
This is our last day at
the Hyatt. It was such a cool place. We got up early
(11AM - early for our trip) to get dim sum in Chinatown. It
was decent. We then went back to Tuft's to move the car
because of the $50 ticket that we got but of course we are going
to ignore the Tuft's ticket =). It was fun to discover that
the light was left on for 1.5 days and the battery was dead.
We borrowed a jumper from Tuft's and got it up and running.
We went back to MIT to check out the campus some more and get Phil
his shotglass. I already had one. We decided
afterwards to get some more college shotglasses so we went to
UMass Boston. After arriving at the stop we walked 20
minutes to the campus. We passed by the Boston Globe and
some TV stations along the way there. It was a decent hike.
We got our prizes and headed back. Back to the hotel
afterwards and a walk to Pinang, one of the best Malaysian foods
in Boston. Of course we got our 22oz beers with gift beer
glasses. Back to the hotel where Patricia came to visit.
Yay!! Then Gargi & Jeff came too and we went to JJ Foley's
because it was really close by. It was a lot of fun to see
everyone. |
| Friday, March 19, 2004 -
Day 7 Boston, MA
-> New York City, NY, Queens |
After going to get the
car from Medford, I think we were experts with the T by now.
We got our stuff from the Hyatt and I did a quick food shopping
trip in Chinatown and off to NYC. We stayed with another one
of Phil's friends Justin. We grabbed an awesome SANDWICH and
off to see Starchy and Hutch. Then to the bar - Maggie Mays
we went! I took full advantage of the open bar for an hour.
I even met a cool dude from JP Morgan at the bar. Getting
home was quite an adventure because our direction person was
passed out. |
| Saturday, March 20,
2004 - Day 8 New York City, NY, Queens
-> Atlantic City, NJ
-> Baltimore, MD |
After getting some food,
off we went to Atlantic City to try our luck at gambling. We
were stuck in NYC for an hour because of a stupid anti-war
demonstration. A lot of streets were closed and it seemed we
couldn't go more than a foot a minute. After getting out of
the city, it was smooth sailing with Justin and his light blue
suit. We went to the Borgota and then the Taj Mahal,
Showboat and then Resorts. AC was a lot of fun Lost
$20. Time to hit the road back to JHop @ 1AM. We got
back to our apartments around 330AM. An awesome road trip
concludes and back to hardcore studying. |

End of Spring Break

| Saturday, February 21,
2004 |
I'm just thinking of some
of the funny things that's happened recently. One of which
is that my roommate was turned away from PJ's Pub next to campus,
but then was let in to Hammerjack's club by a Baltimore Policeman.
That is just hilarious and something I didn't believe would
happen. I also updated my resume in the resume section for
those who want to see it. I also added a link to my friend
Babis or Bobby's site. Anyhoo, more work and some fun
tonight! |
| Sunday, February 15, 2004 |
Valentine's Day was
pretty uneventful. Drinking with and chilling with good
friends is indeed priceless. Hope you all enjoyed your
weekend. |
| Tuesday, February 10,
2004 |
It's only the 2nd week of
school and it's pretty busy already. Many problem sets are
due and projects to finish. Should continue to be fun. |
| Saturday, January 31,
2004 |
First day of classes were
canceled because of the snow. What a great start to the new
semester 1/26/04. The first week of class was good.
The work is starting to get busy. |
| Sunday, January 25, 2004 |
The financial literacy
class was great. I learned and refreshed my memory about
everything. The trip to NYC was great. Visited Lehman
Bros., Bear Stearns, JP Morgan, AIG, Invesco, and Morgan Stanley.
Also had a chance to visit the New York Racketball and Tennis and
the CMU club of NY. It was a great time. Afterwards I
had an interview with SEO and chilled with Aaron and Travis.
Good times. |

For the past five days, I
have been holed up in the library....yes the Milton S. Eisenhower
Library. I have been on levels, M, A, B, C, but not yet D or
that infamous E level. Industrial Organization and Computer
Systems Fundamentals are the only finals I have this year along
with a paper in Antitrust. I have only CSF test tomorrow at
9AM-12PM in Shaffer 3. Wish me luck. I have
discovered, that there are a lot of weird people at Hopkins.
I have also discovered that there some that there are some pretty
hot people here at Hopkins as well. The library is the sadly
the bonding place of Hopkins. We really need to get a life. |

| Sunday, November 30,
2003 |
I up @9AM and then went
to see the Ravens v. 49ers game. Man, it was 7-3 and then
7-6 Ravens for a while until the Baltimore Defense started to put
up lots of scores. It ended with 44-6. It was a fun
game. This time I took some pictures including some of Mount
Vernon where I waited for the bus.
Check
them out in my Photos section. |
| Saturday, November 29,
2003 |
These past couple of days
have been nonstop work. I'm catching up on all the things
that I have to do before classes resume again. Two weeks
until I go back home!! 12/16!! Thanksgiving was cool, went
out with Hadi & Saad to a Chinese restaurant, which seemed to be
only place open on Thanksgiving night. Ok back to work.
8PM- Went over to Jon and Jacob's place in the Carlyle.
Jacob made an awesome thanksgiving day meal. MMmmmmmm
Turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, a casserole, and some good
stuffing. I had a great time. Thanks Jacob!!!!! |

NEW YORK CITY !!!!
Friday - 11/21/03 - Chilled at NYU with Pollack.....such a chill
night. MMMMM start of the good food!! 26th & 2nd Ave not a bad
place to be at. Drinking definitely was there. This is
just the start of it all.
Saturday - 11/22/03 - People started arriving into NYC for this
conference - 29th Business Today International Undergraduate
Business Conference at the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Station on
42 and Park Ave. Went out exploring. Went downtown to
the village and got me a shotglass from NYU. Then walked to
the empire state's building but too damn long of a wait. 2hrs!!!
Then Chinatown for dinner. This is just the beginning.
.... Went to see Rent at the Nederlander Theatre at 41st and
Broadway in Times Sq. My first on Broadway show!! The
show was good but not as cool as Phantom of the Opera or Cats. Ok
back on subject. When we went back we went to the suite
party. It was happening and afterwards went to a bar 4
blocks away that I still fail to remember to this date. It
was a pretty nice bar with $10 drinks. Definitely my high of the
weekend. Went back to the hotel and fell asleep.
Sunday - 11/23/03 - Got up all hungover and went to get my
stuff from my Pollack's place @ NYU. Then got back in time
for lunch and the keynote speaker. Click here for the agenda
for this conference. After going to speakers and sessions.
Steve Forbes was a cool guy. I got a picture with him along
with Jeff from Berkeley. Then it was more time for outings.
We went down to the village and roamed around until we found a
cool bar. We found Swift Bar on 4th street. It was
awesome. Fun pictures for all. MMMMM Irish Carbomb.
Guinness. Back to the hotel to finally meet my roommate.
What a great night!
Monday - 11/24/03 - Waking up at 730 for the 8AM session was
not a fun experience at all. The night for the conference
was capped off by an Open Bar. I got my bang out of the free
bar. Chilean Merlot, Pilsner, 2 German Beers, and others
were all great!! Then it was time for bar hopping time.
We went to 47th St. and went to the W. First downstairs and
then up to the Sky Lounge on the 7th floor. That was
awesome. But, it was a jumpin party. Then it was time
for Bar None down in the village again. They had a karaoke
place. The memorable songs were IN THE CLUB & ITS MY LIFE.
Then we met McCauley Culkins and Mila aka "Jackie" from the 70s
show. IT WAS AWESOME.
Tuesday - 11/25/03 - Waking up at 630AM was not fun at all.
3 hrs was not enough. NYSE was cool like always.
Meeting Ron Insana was cool. He's a cool journalist.
After all the activities, it was time to say goodbyes. =( it was
such a fabulous conference. I will miss everyone there.
CHECK OUT THE PICS!!!! AMAZING! |
| Saturday, November 8, 2003 |
Man, a day of
recuperating from the fun trip to the city by working at Mattin
Center and doing lots of work! Today we played a 240 cup
beruit game. It was amazing! Gotta check out all the
pics. 6 v 6 |
| Thursday - Friday,
November 6-7, 2003 |
What an awesome end
to a week. Aaron and I went up to New York City for an
internship and career fair. I had an internship interview
with OgilvyOne. It just a great time. Lots of good
food! Japanese food, NY bagel, pizza, and top it off, more
sushi. Check out some of the funny and weird pics I/Aaron
took during the ride down. It gets better, at the end of the
trip, we went to see Matrix Revolution. It was a
disappointment. It had its very cool parts, but it also had
a crappy ending. White Marsh has this awesome brew
house/eatery. Their freshly brewed beers are just great!
Why can't all the weekends start like this. |

Got us a new fridge, connected our telephone to the speaker
outside, and got us a new fire detector in our apartment. 2
weeks to LSATs and a lot of work in between then. CSF,
Algorithms, Math Foundations of Cryptography, and Industrial
Organization. All the homework will take a long time.

5PM at Aglient Technologies at their Page Mill Road Office.
It was basically 3 workshops that Inroads held for us. The
first of which was a form filling fun. The other workshops were on
expectation, ethics, presentation skills, and communications.
It was an alright day. In other news, I went to the gym and
injured my finger. =( Now its back to cardio until it heals |
| Friday, June 20, 2003 |
Today is the end of the
1st full week of work. So far, it has been pretty fun and
interesting work. I have done a lot of things ranging from

automation software and seeing what a project manager does.
I definitely hope that the rest of the time is just as fun and
enjoyable. Oh, the other interns are great people.
