| Phil and Dave's Excellent Spring Break Adventures to Boston, New York, and Atlantic City - March 13-March 21, 2004 | |
| Saturday, March 13,
2004 - Day 1 Baltimore, MD -> Cambridge, MA |
We started our little
adventures bright and early at 1PM. =) You can't fault us,
it was the start of break and we needed to get up. Before we
can start on our adventures, we had to stop at Well's Liquors on
York Road to pick up some liquor for the trip. MMMmm
Bacardi O & Smirnoff Vanilla.
Then officially we started on our random trip. Side Warning: this entire trip was conceived in 30 min 2 days before and the entire trip was haphazard and random. The only map we had was the map going to Boston. We drove up the ever so interesting I-95 and the NJ Turnpike to NY and followed up our way up I-95 some more and various highways through Connecticut and Massachusetts. The trip took 6.5hrs only because of the slowdown at the GW bridge in NY and the surrounding areas. Arrival time in Cambridge, MA (Harvard): 9PM. We stayed with my friend Dave Mu at Clavery Hall. It is a pretty neat (old) dorm but pretty close to campus. Went to get some pizza (the start of our 4 straight meals of pizza) at Pinocchio's. It's a decent place! I recommend it. Then we chilled and went to John Harvard's (Bar & Grill). I hate this place. They rejected my id because its out of state & needed a backup. grrrrr. |
| Sunday, March 14,
2004 - Day 2 Cambridge, MA, |
First, we snuck into Adam's dining Hall. Harvard has some decent food! Afterwards, Phil moved the car to Tuft's near his brother, while I continued to edit my paper that I had to finish by Monday. Finished that around 5PM and we went down to MIT. The 1 bus is very convenient and dropped right at the student center (an inverted pyramid). I have to say MIT has some of the ugliest building and sad grey color to everything and NO cell reception! argh! They do have some very interesting buildings like Simmon's Hall (the most expensive dorm in the country at 60million). We met my old pal from high school Harold and he took us on a little walking tour of the campus like the 1/8 of a sphere auditorium. We met up with my other friend Liz from governor's school. We then to the all girls dorm where I saw another person I knew in HS, Jeanette. The penthouse of that dorm had a great view of Boston next to the Charles River. We then went to chill at Simmon's Dorm. It is one of the weirdest but coolest dorms I have ever seen. Check out the pics! We went back to Harvard where we all went the Redlion bar. The live DJ music was pretty good but it was a very slow night. Went back to Mu's place and chilled for the night. I want to give a shout out to Mu for letting us stay over @ his place for 2 nights while he went to his gf, Lana. Also, shout out to Lana!! and his suitemate, Kenny, who were really cool with us! We never did see his 3rd suitemate who was always behind the curtain or away. |
